Our website address is: https://f2fn.org.  At Family to Family Network, we consider the privacy of our visitors and our families to be extremely important. This privacy policy document describes in detail the types of personal information is collected and recorded by http://www.f2fn.org and how we use it.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Basic data is kept for donors or program participation (training event, newsletter, edigest, etc.) – name, telephone number, address, email address, parent/educator/other, and program attended/amount donated.   We do not sell or share your information with others.  Data is used as a way to keep track of numbers of persons participating in our programs, to perform follow up evaluations, and to solicit donations. 

Additional data is kept for persons who contact us requesting assistance, information and/or referrals to resources. We keep data on what information you request, if you were referred from another agency or website, and what information is provided to you. This helps us remember you if you call or email again, and helps us if we have changes in staff.  We also use this data to keep track of the number of people served by our organization and to solicit donations. We DO NOT collect Social Security Numbers and never ask you for this information, unless you are specifically requesting our support for Supplemental Security Income.  Again – Family to Family does not sell or share your information with others unless you have specifically given us permission to reach out to a specific organization regarding your situation (ie school district, state agency, etc.).

The Personal Data that we collect directly from you includes the following:

  • If you express an interest in obtaining additional information about our services, request support, use our “Contact Us” or similar features, register to use our websites, sign up for an event, webinar or edigest, or download certain content, we may require that you provide to us your contact information, such as your name, phone number, email address or username and password;
  • If you attend an event, we may upon your consent scan your attendee badge, which will provide to us your name, phone number, school district and email address;
  • If you register for an online community that we host, we may ask you to provide a username, photo and/or biographical information, such as your occupation, social media profiles, company name and areas of expertise;
  • If you use and interact with our websites, we automatically collect log files and other information about your device and your usage of our websites through cookies, web beacons or similar technologies, such as Internet Protocol (IP) addresses or other identifiers, which may qualify as Personal Data (please see the “What device and usage data we process” section, below); and
  • If you visit our offices, you may be required to register as a visitor and to provide your name, email address, school district, & phone number.  If you provide to us or to our service providers any Personal Data relating to other individuals, you represent that you have the authority to do so and permit us to use the Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Statement. If you believe that your Personal Data has been provided to us improperly, or to otherwise exercise your rights relating to your Personal Data, please contact us by using the information in the “Contacting Us” section, below.
  • In accordance with industry standards and law (e.g., the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) regulations in the U.S.), we do not knowingly collect, administer, or enable the commercial use of personal data relating to children less than 13 years of age. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with any information that would require compliance with the COPPA, then we will delete this information from our databases.

We collect and process Personal Data for a variety of purposes, including:

  • The processing of your name and contact information to provide you with information about our services, manage your registration for and attendance at our events and webinars or for office visits, manage your registration for quarterly newsletter or monthly edigest, provide you with customer support or otherwise communicate with you.
  • The processing of device and usage data to improve and customize our websites and to guarantee our websites’ security and continued proper functioning;
  • The processing of your billing information to complete transactions with you when you purchase our products or services;
  • To display personalized advertisements to you and to send to you marketing communications about us, our products and our services; and
  • To comply with our legal obligations under applicable laws and cooperate with public and government authorities

Who we share your data with

Disclosure of Data 

Family to Family Network does not sell or share your data with any outside agency.  Family to Family never uses any of your personal information in any AI tools (such a ChatGpt, Dall-E 2, Lumen 5, Sounddraw, etc. ).

Family to Family does not knowingly collect, use, or store any sensitive information on our technology Platforms.  Sensitive information (“Sensitive Data”) includes certain types of information associated with a specific individual, such as Social Security Numbers or other Government-issued identifiers, financial account numbers, sexual orientation, religion, actual knowledge of an individual’s past, present, or potential future health or medical conditions or treatments (such as diabetes, heart attacks, etc.) including genetic, genomic, and family medical history, and actual knowledge of or inferences based on certain sensitive health conditions (e.g., cancer, STDs). Sensitive Data also includes information deemed sensitive by a particular jurisdiction.

We may use third-party service providers to assist us with providing and marketing our products and services to you and we may share your information with such third parties for these limited purposes.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website or our facebook page, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time.  Website administrators can also see and edit that information.  Data will be kept indefinitely unless you notify us that you wish to have all information deleted.  

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Additional information

How we protect your data

Only employees of Family to Family Network have access to the data base and passwords are changed every three months.  When an employee leaves the organization, they are removed as a user and can no longer access the data base.  

What data breach procedures we have in place

We have insurance through USLI for data breaches and will notify you immediately upon a data breach.
