NEW THIS YEAR: Specific sessions for High School Students Round Table Discussions during the lunch hour
This conference will be open to high school students and family members of children from age birth to adult, with any type of learning or developmental disability. It is our goal to provide parents with information on a wide variety of topics, including, but not limited to: early childhood development, positive behavioral strategies, ARD, disability law, specific disabilities (autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, ADD / ADHD, learning disabilities, etc...), estate planning and special needs trusts, transition, therapy practices, advocacy, the medical home, inclusion, sibling issues. There will be four, 75 minute sessions throughout the day. Parents and Teens must pre-register for the conference as most sessions will be limited to approx. 30 people. Sessions will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
Pre - registration begins on January 15, 2011. On-site registration will take place that day, but parents should note that all sessions may not be available and there will be an onsite registration fee of $20.......so pre-registration is highly recommended. LAST DAY TO PRE-REGISTER - Feb 25th
Pre-Registration - ONLINE: All Jr. High/HS Students/Young adults = NO Conference Fee. ALL family members & Katy ISD Teachers/Paras = NO Conference Fee (Thank you to Region 4 Education Service Center for providing the out of district parent stipends for this).
ALL Professionals OUTSIDE of KATY ISD = $20 Conference Fee (Other ISD, Private schools, Day Care providers, etc)
Day of Conference: Walk in registration for ALL = $20 Conference Fee
