Disability Leadership Network of Houston

What Is Disability Leadership Network of Houston?

Disability Leadership Network of Houston is a leadership training program.  Participants in the program learn about current disability issues,   best practices, decision making processes at both the local and state levels, and how to impact public policies that affect people with disabilities.

The goal of the program is for participants to gain the necessary competencies to become effective advocates who can work together to create positive changes for people with disabilities in our local community.

To participate in the program, interested individuals should submit an application for consideration to Family to Family Network.

Who Is The Disability Leadership Network of Houston For?

Adults with disabilities, family members, professionals and other community members who work on behalf of people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.  Highly motivated men and women who represent different disabilities, ethnic backgrounds, experiences and areas of Greater Houston are wanted.

If you have a vested interest in the issues and policies affecting people with disabilities, and are motivated to create positive changes, consider applying to participate in this exciting program!

Applications for the next class will be available in the spring.  If interested in applying, please call 713-466-6304.

How Is The Disability Leadership Network of Houston Organized?

• The class meets monthly for six to eight full-day training sessions.   Experts in the disability movement and public policy present various topics, including:
